How herbal pot pourri, envelopes and pillows
Potpourri Herbal
Potpourri aromatic house is an accessory and many traditional recipes have been handed down from generation to generation. There are several ways to make potpourri. Is the oldest method in a moist potpourri where layers of rose petals, spices and salt are placed in a large saucepan and let it rot for six weeks or more. The strength of the smell is great, but the look is not good (salt bleached all the colors in the rose petals). Therefore, potpourri pots are traditional closed, with holes for the puff of fragrance through.
A finish is best gained by mixing flowers and herbs essential oils and a fixative such as the iris root. It is also quite long, but the final effect can be very beautiful, especially when some flowers are dried with silica gel and placed in the top decoration.
As most projects are here for envelopes or other herbs that are hidden behind a curtain, looking potpourri finish is not of vital importance. The main point is that the smell must be strong and durable. By making small bags of ingredients allows for a uniform small enough, so no unsightly bumps on the envelopes. The best answer for this is to use blades of grass and dried flowers, with a much higher position.
Many recipes call the iris root powder, but I use cut and sifted, or iris blue flag root for him, because I think that spoils the appearance of dust outside of potpourri. However, as the recipes here are mainly used in envelopes, either in powder or cut the root of iris will.
Many recipes here can easily be modified to adapt to what ingredients you have. Once you've made several batches of its pot-pourri own becoming more courageous and want to experience. It is easy to make your own recipesjust stick to the basic guidelines on the amounts of ingredients.

If you intend to do different types of potpourri, I suggest you build a collection of bottles of iris root and different mixtures of essential oils that can be used as you wish.
Mix oil and the iris root in the proportions of the iris root 4 oz to 1 / 2 oz of essential oil. Once it has matured for several days may be used to the spoon as shown in the recipes. Make sure the bottle label clearly indicating oil particularly essential that you used. The collection of the iris root / pots oil can then sit in a queue ordered on your kitchen shelf or counter, where you can shake from time to time to encourage the mixing process. Avoid storing in direct sunlight intense because it will reduce the power of essential oils.
